Hello Again!

I wish I had an excuse for my long absence. The truth is... I've got nothing, other than I was caught up in life and pushed this blog aside. Days... to weeks... months, seasons... and then it finally occurred to me that, gee, how long has it been since I've thought about that ol' bookie blog of mine?

This evening I had a great time meeting with some of the other members of the team that I am on. You know how it is easy to kind of let things go until something sparks the fire again? Well, let's just say THE FIRE IS LIT!  Time for me to put my business back at the forefront of my life. I love what I do. Truly, I love it- my JOB is making people happy by giving them free books that are going to enrich their children's lives. Really, how can I not absolutely love that?

Review: There's a Mouse About the House

Mom's Review: This is hands down one of the cutest books I have ever seen! This is one of my top selling titles and well loved by every kid who sees it. The mouse is a cutout that moves through slots throughout each of the pages. His little adventure through the house makes for lots of laughs from the kids. I especially like that he always travels in a left-to-right fashion to promote early reading skills. You will absolutely love this book. It's fun, it's different, it's definitely worth adding to your collection.

Luke's Review:
I love the mouse running all over the place and trying to get the cheese. My favorite thing about the book is because he moves all around. It's a fun story. Two thumbs up!

Joel's Review:
I love this book. The story is really fun to read and I like putting the mouse in the holes. My favorite part is when he climbs through the man's pajamas and the man screams. Two thumbs up and kids will like this book and they should get it!

Evan's Review:
This book is really funny because the mouse runs all over the pages and you can move him through the holes in the pages. Kids would like to have this book because it is fun to read.

Mom's Tip: Especially for those with younger kids- get some brown felt, trace the mouse that comes with the book, and instantly you have a soft version of the mouse ready for your child to use in the book. This will make it easier for little hands to slip the mouse through the slots on each page and will keep your book in tip-top shape!

Review: Pirates

What is it that you like about this story? Well, it's all about how pirates used to live and do stuff. Like the pirates had to work and had different jobs and got into trouble when they didn't follow the rules.

What do you want people to know about pirates that you learned in this book?  The pirates were sometimes bad guys and sometimes good guys, and some of them wanted treasure but some of them got left behind or they got captured by the Navy.

Do you think other kids would like this book? Yes, definitely. I really like the pictures and other kids will, too.

I promise we've got some new reviews on the way, but I wanted to quickly share just why I love what I do.

In the past two weeks, I have given people $615 worth of free and 1/2 price books (nearly half of that being FREE.) This is my job... to make people happy by giving them FREE books that will enrich the children in their lives.

Talk about a fulfilling job!

Candlewick Lake Residents: End of the Book Fair is Sunday!

Have you seen these cool kids running around the lake? 

One of the reasons we were so excited to move to CWL is because of all the community programs that are offered for children. As a mom, I love having my children grow up in this wonderful community. I take pride in where we live and want to make it a great place for all of us to make memories. 

Tomorrow is the last day of the CWL Book Fair. Please come support the children's programs in our neighborhood! The family friendly atmosphere is an important feature of what we have to offer to the (current and future) residents of Candlewick Lake. 

Weather-permitting, I'll be set up outside near all the Labor Day festivities taking place. (Rain and books don't mix, so you'll find me inside the Rec Center if the weather isn't cooperating.)
